What I'm wearing now, & some inspiration

Hi you lot! I hope you're all so well and have had the best weekend. After asking what you'd like to see from me on Instagram Stories, lots of you said more fashion and inspiration, so I've worked on something a little bit different for you today. I'm not usually one to lose inspiration with what I'm doing, and to make sure I take in as much as I can, I look to Tumblr, Pinterest and of course, Instagram. I like to see colours, textures and shapes more than 'how to wear jeans' if you catch my drift…so I find more design led accounts more useful to me.

The season will soon be moving into Autumn, which means temperatures will drop and we'll have to start layering up. I know it's sad but the bright side in all of this is that we have to wear different things from our wardrobe or invest in some new pieces to see us through the colder half of the year, which for me, is exciting!

I've already invested in a couple of new warmer pieces that I feel will transition well going forward, and that I'll wear a lot. I've pulled the inspiration images from Tumblr on this occasion so you can see my inspiration for dressing as we move into Autumn.

The basics. Jeans and a t-shirt are my absolute failsafe. It's what I feel most comfortable in, and it's what I pull out when I can't decide what to wear. Totême have relaunched their original denim collection that allows you to choose your leg length in each wash- what a god send that is. I've ordered the washed out black/grey pair as I'm literally drowning in blue denim at home! T-shirt wise, my favourite and the best quality are Re/done. They come in at £75 but I've had mine for almost 4 years and they are brilliant, and show no signs of wear.

Next up is this black on black look. I have the skirt that I've linked for you by Reformation but you can't get it in the UK without US shipping charges so I've found a similar one in Topshop for £9! I think back x black is so chic, and it's perfect for an evening out that can be dressed up or down and isn't a look that'll break your bank.

If you followed along on my Copenhagen Fashion Week trip, you'll have noticed that I bought some new Fendi mules. They are quite easily, my pride and joy, and they live in a dust bag when not on my feet (which isn't often at all). I've fallen in love with the 90's logo resurgence and I really love how they can lift a basic jeans/t-shirt combination. They're super comfy after a few wears. The leather is a little bit tough at first but it soon softens up and they're the perfect height to walk for quite some time in!

Simplicity is key for me, although I am partial to some colour, I like the shapes to compliment each other and to fit my body properly. I've said before that whilst I love oversized pieces, I really love figure hugging clothing too. This mix of vest with trench coat is the best! I've found an amazing knit vest on Massimo Dutti and the perfect oversized trench coat on & Other Stories.

I found the perfect transitional blazer, a la inspiration on Tumblr. I always have such amazing ones from & Other Stories, and this one is no different. I absolutely love the fit of it, with a slightly slimmer jean and trainers or a mid heel. I can't stop wearing it! It's wool too, so it'll stand the test of time.

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you've enjoyed today's post. It's always nice to find inspiration in new ways! See you back here on Wednesday for something new. xx
