Copenhagen Fashion Week on film
Hello you lot. I hope you all had the best weekend. I spent the back end of last week in Copenhagen for fashion week with Lizzy and Brittany. I think I’ve told you time and time again just how much I love Copenhagen, and that Copenhagen fashion week is my absolute favourite. It’s such a warm, eclectic and integrated fashion week; brands invite you along because of mutual respect and it always feels a bit special.
You know that Lizzy and I always travel together, for work and holidays, but this was the first time Brit had come along with us. We laughed a lot, saw an awful lot of nakedness from each other, and when the toilet sliding door broke in our Air BnB, we had to become even more liberal. Brilliant. We all know each other a little better than before!!
We stayed in something that was quite cool but also, novel; it was a converted shipping container on the waterfront. It was beautiful inside but had a couple of design flaws, like, the toilet didn’t really flush, the water ran out, the lights were super energy saving so they didn’t really turn on which meant getting ready on the dark for bed. All part of the experience though!
I captured the few days on film so I wanted to share what we got up to.
On our first day we saw the Holzweiler show which was very cool and had a really fun twist on lots of outwear. Gotta love the Norwegians. Then we went to see Stine Goya which was really beautiful and pastel heavy as always- the show design and set always blows me away too, it always looks amazing! Then to end our evening we attended the Holzweiler dinner which was set in a garden, complete with sunset, flowers, incredible food and a great crowd. After dinner it turned into a bit of an old school RnB disco which was so much fun, I had to be told we were leaving or else I’d have stayed and drank and danced all night!
The second day started with a gorgeous breakfast with my lovely Jo from my agency, VARG. Then we headed off to the Malene Birger show, which is always a highlight for me. This season was no different, I always really love the styling and I honestly would have worn 80% of the looks that flew down the catwalk. I always feel so impatient at fashion week because I want to wear it NOW, but you have to wait months for the collections to drop. Gutted.
Next up we all went to the new Gestuz store, and chose a few new season pieces each. It made me so flipping excited for a new season of getting dressed! One of the items I chose was he most amazing green fluffy cardigan and I can’t wait to wear it.
Later on I went to meet my pals at Samsøe & Samsøe for a catch up lunch at Hotel Sanders, which was so lovely, both food and company! It’s great to get these catch ups in as well as fashion week appointments so you don’t feel too flat out, as it’s difficult to get any downtime if you go to every single show. So because I am a planner, I love a plan and to be organised, I double checked the OFFICIAL CPHFW website for the show schedules and timings to put together a mini list for us so we knew what was happening and when. Unfortunately, the bloody website was incorrect and every show was listed as 1 hour before the actual time. So we got a shock after every show as we rushed to the next thing only to learn we had so much time!
Next up was the Baum Und Pferdgarten show. You might remember I was in Copenhagen in June with the team, which was gorgeous! The show was held at the oldest auction house in Copenhagen and it was very cool. The collection looked so beautiful and again he styling was the best. Let’s just say I’ve already put my order in!
After the Baum show, the three of us headed back to get comfy clothes, and went straight to Tivoli! Which is basically a beautiful, vintage theme park. It’s mine and Lizzy’s favourite one, and we did the same thing last season, so this time we took Brit. We had so much fun! So much so that I didn’t take my phone or camera out- sorry! Afterwards we went to Pate Pate for a late dinner and he food was as beautiful as always. It’s a really cool, relaxed spot where sharing plates are the best thing. Oh and if you’re a wine drinker then the wine list will blow your socks off.
I think that’s it! Thank you so much for reading and I hope you’ve enjoyed this little lowdown of CPHFW. See you back here on Wednesday with something new. Xx
