white shirts always work
love notes to white shirts
Hello you lot! I hope you are all having a great day so far, and that you enjoyed your weekend. I was at home in Stockport spending time with mum and my brother. We always have such a laugh and this time was no different, I struggled to get to sleep because I could still hear mum laughing, which set me right off again! It was nice to go home, and just be at home instead of running around trying to visit 400 people.
Today’s post is a love note to the white shirt.
When does a white shirt not look great? never.
Now, I’ve got quite the white shirt collection, each with varying degrees of detail differences. Oversized collar, fancy cuff, fancy sleeve, longline, oversized, linen, silk, cotton. I have a problem yes, but a shirt is probably up there with my most drawn on pieces like a t-shirt or jeans. This one is from & Other Stories and it’s the perfect oversized shirt. It’s longer in length, really comfortable, and is more like an Oxford shirt you might have borrowed from a bloke in your life. It looks great tucked into something high waisted, or left open over a racer back vest for a more summer-y look.
My jeans are by Weekday, and I’m obsessed with them. I got them first in a light wash but the fit was no where near as good as this so I went back to try other colours and loved this dark organic wash. They are high waisted, with a sort of balloon tapered leg which I love. I’m usually a waist 26, and I got a 28 in these so that they are more loose and baggy looking. I put my new mules from Scandi brand, Flattered on and I honestly haven’t worn much else on my feet since these arrived. They are incredibly comfy, look great on and are under £200. Size up by 1 size though as they run small. I’ll be wearing them all summer long with shorts and dresses.
Shop the look:
Weekday ‘Lash’ jeans tapered leg - size up by 1 or 2 sizes for a more loose fit
Flattered slip on shoes - size up by 1 size
Thank you so much for reading and have a class day xx
