French Riviera Dressing

So as you can probably tell from my last post, I'm slowly moving into dresses. I have never been interested in dresses before, largely because I could never find any that were flattering. I was in Nice recently and I took along a few dresses, because I feel like now, they're the easiest thing to take on holiday and it means you can minimise stressful outfit packing!

To work for me, dresses need to have a combination of elements:

-Short but not short enough so the general public can see what colour underwear you've opted for

-Fitted, but absolutely not body con

-Look great with Converse as an alternative option

-No underlining because let's face it, it looks cheap

My friend Katherine, does dresses so well. So after we'd spent some time in LA together, she'd near on made me obsessed with London based brand, Rixo. Rixo is a brand that combines British fashion with vintage inspiration meaning that nothing feels mass produced or 'trend led'. This is exactly why I love it. The fit of this dress is absolutely spot on, I love the open back detail and the hint of frill around the cuffs and hem. I'd say this is quite the step forward for my wardrobe; it's a pale blue printed dress that's actually, fairly 'girly' and it made me feel so good! I remember saying to my boyfriend, thank you for encouraging me to wear dresses! The quality is beautiful too.

You can shop my look below and I hope you head to Rixo to see what you can find!
