Some summer staple pieces
I'll start off by saying that these images were taken in London…it looks like a topical paradise! But no, it was in fact, stifling, sweaty London. I wanted to put together an outfit that I love wearing, whether it's 20 or 30 degrees (with a distinct change from jeans to shorts for the latter).
I've been finding it a bit difficult to stay cool recently, as temperatures reach 31 degrees and I live in a top floor flat, where ALL THE HEAT RISES TO. No amount of fans can cool me down. Shopping, for me, isn't something I try to do all the time, I'm trying to be mindful of what I buy because it can get very wasteful, and that's no use to me or our environment. I wanted to buy a versatile top, something cool and light, but something I will love wearing during the Summer heat and on holidays.
You all know that I head to Matches.com when I want some inspiration, or to find brands that I haven't discovered before, and this time, it's absolutely no different. This top is by Apiece Apart and I couldn't love the brand more. The top fits beautifully (Always more cropped on me than everyone else because I'm almost 6ft tall and I'm all body!) the quality is great and it's super light and airy- which is exactly what I wanted. I was trying to find a top that I would love wearing with trusty light vintage denim too, as both my jeans and shorts are in that wash and those are what I wear most in the warmer months.
My sunglasses are by Celine, at Bicester Village- which is the best place for previous season designer items, and the Celine store there always has the most brilliant selection of sunglasses. I've worn these so much since I got them!
Next up are my slides, and my bag. Two pieces I have lived in this Summer. My slides are by The Row and are like actual silk slippers and are so comfortable- they're in the sale now too so grab some! The basket bag is by French brand Muun, and it's just the easiest thing ever to throw everything into and get gone. I love a basket as much as the next girl, but this one is my favourite.
