Interior design is something I actually find comes quite easy to me (after a few years of practice!). The process of gathering inspiration, visualising the space and being able to create rooms within your home that you love so much you don’t want to leave, are all stages I love.
A minimalist at heart, I felt it time for a change, and a colourful one at that. I worked with DFS to design a living area, based around the trends to come out of the Salone del Mobile furniture design show in Milan. I put together my ideas on Pinterest to really visualise how I wanted my living space to feel, and I did that by basing it around the DFS Zinc sofa from the French Connection range and as you can see…..it’s yellow, and velvet. I was in two minds at this point; there was a safer, navy blue velvet option or the yellow. My boyfriend actually gave me the push I didn’t realise I needed towards the yellow. I am so glad he did.
Adding in some colour has honestly revolutionised the way I feel about my living space. I can still maintain some of my minimalist ideas with prints and decor, but my feature colours appear to be yellow, navy blue and green velvet notes; who’d have thought it!
The space I live in has a huge impact on my mood, I don’t know about you, but in order to be productive and inspired, I need to feel comfortable and love my surroundings. I’ve never really been proud of my home before, but thanks to this gorgeous collaboration with DFS, I am now.
For me, working with DFS, I was treated like every other customer; and the service was excellent. I’ve been living with and loving my new sofa for the past month now and honestly, it couldn’t be more comfortable. I’ve even had a couple of spillages and I rang a dedicated number at DFS to see how to deal with them (trust me, when you’re as clumsy as I am, this is a God send!).
There’s literally the best selection of fabric sofas, so you can have a little look here.
The sofa was given to me by DFS, but all views are my own, and I would always now buy future sofas with DFS.
Thank you so much for reading.
